A main road and the East Coast railway line pass through its centre, and the densest grid of shophouse streets gathers close to them before thinning into residential lanes and scattered housing estates. Beyond the edges, the map turns quiet, broken only by estate tracks and the soft curves of streams heading toward the Pahang basin.
Mentakab sits a short distance from Temerloh, and the two towns work almost as a pair in central Pahang. Shophouse core
Near the centre, short blocks and closely spaced streets form the densest part of the drawing. This is the commercial heart, and it shows up as the darkest, most detailed patch on the poster.
Estate country edges
Towards the margins, the street pattern gives way to sparse lines and open ground. Plantation tracks and small waterways leave light marks that frame the town with plenty of quiet space.
