Mestre Map Poster & Print
Mestre is the mainland heart of the municipality of Venice, facing the lagoon a few kilometres from the historic islands. On the map its streets cluster around Piazza Ferretto, and residential districts spread inland from there. The industrial port of Marghera lies to the south, and to the east the lagoon shore opens into flat water and marsh.
The Ponte della Libertà and the railway bridge beside it cross the lagoon to Venice in one long, straight line that pulls the eye towards the islands. Mestre's station is a major rail junction for the region. A ring of old forts surrounds the town, among them Forte Marghera near the lagoon, and Parco San Giuliano stretches along the shore.
A Mestre map poster shows the everyday side of Venice: the town where many residents actually live and work, drawn together with the lagoon and the crossing that binds it to the islands. It suits people who grew up here or commuted across the bridge, and anyone who prefers the real map to the postcard.

Piazza Ferretto
The main square sits at the centre of the old town. The narrow streets of historic Mestre gather around it, and newer districts spread outwards.
Porto Marghera
To the south, the industrial port fills the map with large docks, canals and long rectangular quays, a coarse counterpoint to the finer residential streets.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
People often pass through Mestre rather than visit it, yet many call it home. A map that shows it together with the lagoon gives it proper weight and makes a distinctive alternative to the familiar outline of Venice alone.
