Micheng Map Poster & Print
Micheng is the seat of Midu County, in the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture of western Yunnan. Like many towns in this part of the province, it lies in a bazi, a flat basin surrounded by mountains, where the level ground supports farming and the town. Dali and Erhai Lake lie to the north-west.
On a map, the basin makes the town's shape. The built-up area sits on the flat floor, with older streets at the centre and newer districts in more regular blocks around them. Roads cross the basin and leave through the valleys, while the frame's edges are taken up by farmland and the start of the mountain slopes.
A Micheng map poster is a calm, simple portrait of a Yunnan county town. The dense centre stands out clearly in black and white, and the open fields around it provide space and balance. It suits people from Midu, and anyone who has travelled in the Dali region and wants to remember one of its quieter towns.

Compact centre
A denser older core is surrounded by newer, more regular blocks, giving the town a clear centre and an orderly outer edge.
Fields to the hills
Farmland fills the rest of the basin and appears as open space on the map, leading out to the mountains of Dali prefecture.
