Monte Negro Map Poster & Print
Monte Negro is a municipality in the state of Rondônia, in Brazil's western Amazon region. Like many towns in the state, it developed during the agricultural settlement of recent decades, and its urban area is organised in a straightforward planned grid of rectangular blocks, easy to read from above.
Around the town, the map shows the pattern typical of settled Rondônia: long straight rural roads running out at regular intervals, with narrow farm lots arranged along them. Between cleared areas, remaining patches of forest and river corridors add irregular shapes that break the geometry.
A Monte Negro map poster works as a portrait of a recently built place, where the logic of planning is still clearly visible. The combination of a regular town grid and a wider rural pattern of roads and lots makes for a strong, graphic print.

Rural road lines
Straight roads extend out from the town into the countryside at regular intervals, a characteristic pattern of agricultural settlement in the region.
Forest and river edges
Remaining forest and winding watercourses interrupt the straight lines of roads and lots, giving the edges of the map a more organic shape.
