Montero Map Poster & Print
Montero lies in the tropical lowlands of the Santa Cruz department, north of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The land here is flat, and the town's map reflects that: a regular grid of blocks around a central plaza, with long, straight roads running out across open country.
The region is Bolivia's main agricultural heartland, and Montero is closely tied to it. Sugarcane dominates the surrounding fields, and the town has long been associated with sugar refining, along with other crops such as soy and rice. It functions as a service and trade centre for a large farming area.
A Montero map poster shows a town that grew outward from a simple plan. The central plaza and grid form a dense core, main roads leading to Santa Cruz and the northern towns stretch away in straight lines, and newer neighbourhoods spread across the plain in a looser, patchwork pattern.

Regular blocks
The town is laid out in a fairly regular grid of blocks, a clear, even texture that shows well in black and white.
Roads across the plain
Long straight highways lead out across the flat farmland toward Santa Cruz and the north, giving the map strong directional lines.
