Nangwa is a town in the Hanang district of Manyara region in northern Tanzania, where the land rises into farmed highlands and volcanic hills. Crops such as maize and beans are grown across the surrounding country, and the settlement pattern follows the fields: a modest centre with homesteads and small roads spread out around it. On a map the town is a light, open cluster rather than a dense core.
The streets are laid out informally, with a main road passing through and tracks branching out toward farms and neighbouring villages.
