Planned layout
Wide, straight streets and evenly spaced blocks form the core of the town, a planned pattern that looks especially crisp in a minimal black-and-white rendering.

Neftekumsk Map Poster & Print
Neftekumsk grew up in the eastern part of Stavropol Krai after oil was found in the area in the mid-twentieth century, and its name joins the Russian word for oil with the Kuma River that runs past it. It was built as a new town, and the map reflects that: straight avenues, regular residential blocks and clearly separated industrial zones, all set on flat, open steppe.
The surrounding landscape is dry and sparsely settled, part of the transition towards the Caspian lowland, with long straight roads and field boundaries stretching across the plain. Tree belts and green spaces within the town stand out against this open country. The Kuma winds through the area in slow bends, one of the few natural curves in a strongly geometric setting.
A Neftekumsk map poster shows a clear example of Soviet town planning, compact and legible at a glance. For people who grew up here, or whose parents came to work in the oil fields, the regular blocks and wide streets are instantly familiar. In black and white, the town's geometry becomes a quiet, almost architectural image.

Kuma River
The river winds past the town in loose meanders, adding an organic line that balances the strict geometry of the streets beside it.
Steppe surroundings
Beyond the last houses the flat steppe opens out, crossed by long roads and field edges, giving the print a sense of space around a compact centre.
