Öland Map Poster & Print
Öland is Sweden's second-largest island. It lies off the southeast coast in the Baltic Sea, separated from the mainland by the Kalmar Strait. On a map it is long and thin, stretching well over a hundred kilometres from north to south and rarely more than 16 kilometres wide. A single main road runs down the middle, with villages strung along it and along both coasts.
The Öland Bridge, opened in 1972, crosses the strait from Kalmar. Its long straight line is one of the most striking features on the map. The south of the island is dominated by Stora Alvaret, a vast, open limestone plain with thin soil and almost no trees. Villages around its edges keep old linear layouts that go back centuries.
The Agricultural Landscape of Southern Öland has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Borgholm, the main town, sits on the west coast with the ruins of its castle nearby, and the Swedish royal family spends its summers at Solliden. An Öland map poster shows the island's long, simple form, its bridge and the open alvar in the south.

Stora Alvaret
On the map the open limestone plain in the south is a wide, nearly empty area. It is bordered by villages whose fields and houses follow long parallel lines.
Borgholm Castle
The ruins of Borgholm Castle stand on the limestone ridge just south of the town. They make a large, square outline on the island's west coast.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Öland is a summer place for many Swedes, a destination for birdwatchers and cyclists, and a landscape unlike any other in Scandinavia. The long outline and the bridge to Kalmar make a tall, balanced print.
You can put a village or the name of a summer house in the title, add a subtitle and a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from five styles. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or you can download the $9 HD files.
