Town along the road
Much of Ouessé is arranged along its main routes, so the built-up area forms an elongated shape instead of a round core. This gives the poster a distinct direction.

Ouessé Map Poster & Print
Ouessé is in the Collines department of central Benin, a region of rolling savanna, farmland and scattered rocky hills between the coast and the country's north. The town is the seat of a commune of the same name. On a map it appears as a modest settlement stretched along its roads, with houses and compounds thinning out gradually into the countryside.
The layout reflects how life works here. Trade and movement follow the main routes, and smaller tracks branch off toward fields and outlying villages. Unlike a planned city, Ouessé grew in an irregular pattern, and it looks organic from above. Blocks vary in size, and the paths follow the land rather than a ruler.
An Ouessé map poster brings that pattern into focus. The central streets make a denser patch, while the roads leading out of town draw long lines across open ground. In monochrome the balance between settlement and savanna becomes the main subject, and the design stays quiet enough to hang almost anywhere.

Irregular local paths
Smaller streets and tracks branch off at uneven angles and follow the terrain. They add a hand-drawn quality that sets the town apart from gridded cities.
Savanna surroundings
Open farmland and savanna around the town become broad pale areas on the print. They leave room for the title and give the design a calm, uncluttered feel.

The map is a quiet reminder of central Benin for people from Ouessé, for those living abroad, or for anyone who has spent time in the Collines. It captures the outline of a place that is rarely printed at this scale, and that alone makes it personal.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name, a year of leaving or a wedding date. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to match the frame and the wall.
