Branching lanes
Narrow roads wind between homes and gardens in an organic pattern. On the poster they produce a delicate web rather than a regular grid.

Painkulam Map Poster & Print
Painkulam is in Kanyakumari district, the southernmost district of Tamil Nadu, close to the Kerala border. The land here is green and densely settled, and from above it rarely forms a single compact town. Houses stand among coconut palms and garden plots, linked by narrow roads that wind rather than run straight.
The Arabian Sea coast is not far to the west, and the land between is laced with small waterways, ponds and paddy fields. Settlements run into each other, so the map shows a continuous fabric of roads and homes rather than a clear edge. Larger routes connect the area to Marthandam and toward Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
A Painkulam map poster reflects this distinctive landscape at the tip of the peninsula. The lines of the roads are soft and branching, water shows up in small scattered shapes, and settlement fills almost all of the frame. It looks quite different from the grid of a planned town, and that is its character.

Ponds and paddy
Small tanks, ponds and rice fields are scattered through the settlement. They add quiet open shapes to the otherwise dense texture.
Near the coast
The Arabian Sea lies a short distance to the west. The area belongs to the green coastal belt that runs along India's southwestern shore.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Many people from Kanyakumari district now live and work in the Gulf, in other Indian cities or abroad. A map of Painkulam, with its winding lanes, is a personal way to keep home in view.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a family name or a date. Paper and Sand suit the soft, green layout. Classic black and white or Noir make the lanes stand out more strongly.
