Pastos Bons Map Poster & Print
Pastos Bons is a municipality in the interior of Maranhão, in north-eastern Brazil. Its name means good pastures, a nod to the grazing land that shaped settlement in this part of the state. The map reflects that rural character: a modest urban core surrounded by large, sparsely marked areas of cerrado and farmland.
The town itself appears as a small grid of blocks, laid out with the regular rectangles common to many towns in the Brazilian interior. Roads leave the grid in a few directions and quickly become long single lines across open land. They link Pastos Bons with neighbouring municipalities and with the wider road network of the state.
A Pastos Bons map poster is less about density than about proportion: a settled place held within a very wide landscape. Streams and seasonal watercourses trace faint lines across the surrounding terrain. At a wider scale the print becomes a study of how little it takes to make a town visible from above, and how much space surrounds it.

Roads into the interior
A handful of roads leave the town and run for long distances with few branches, drawing clean lines across the page toward neighbouring communities.
Open cerrado
Much of the surrounding municipality is savanna and pasture. That leaves generous empty space on the poster and gives the small street grid room to breathe.
