Pereiro Map Poster & Print
Pereiro is a municipality in the east of Ceará, close to the border with Rio Grande do Norte. The town itself is small and compact, with a short grid of streets around its centre and roads leaving toward neighbouring municipalities. Around it lies the semi-arid sertão, a landscape of low hills, scrubland and watercourses that flow only in the rainy season.
The surrounding caatinga turns grey in the dry months and green again after the rains, and life here has long been organised around water: small dams, reservoirs and the careful use of seasonal rivers. On a map those reservoirs appear as irregular shapes in the open land around town, some of the few features that break the empty space.
A Pereiro map poster keeps the town at the centre of that wide, sparse setting. The streets form a small, dense cluster, while rural roads stretch outward in long, slightly irregular lines. The contrast works well in black and white, giving a quiet, almost diagrammatic portrait of a town in the interior of Ceará.

Rural road network
Roads leave town in several directions, crossing the sertão toward farms and nearby municipalities. They give the composition long lines that reach to the edges of the frame.
Water in a dry land
Small reservoirs and seasonal streams appear in the open land around the town. In a semi-arid region, these shapes are some of the most meaningful features on the map.

Many people from the interior of Ceará have moved to Fortaleza, São Paulo or further afield, and a map of the home town keeps a connection that is hard to put into words. These are the streets walked every day, drawn cleanly.
