Postwar street plan

Plainview Map Poster & Print
Plainview is a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, on Long Island in New York. Once largely farmland, it was transformed after the Second World War into a residential suburb, and its street plan reflects that era. From above, it is a mesh of looping lanes, cul-de-sacs and gently curving roads, with schools and parks set within the neighbourhoods.
Major roads define the area's edges and structure. The Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway cross through the region, their wide sweeping lines standing out against the finer residential pattern. Commercial strips run along the main arterial roads, while the interior streets stay quiet and residential.
A Plainview map poster captures a classic postwar suburban form: small curving streets filling the space between bold highways. It is a surprisingly graphic composition, and in black and white the contrast between the fine residential lines and the heavy roadways becomes the main subject of the print.

Expressway corridor

Parks and school grounds
Open spaces for schools, parks and sports fields appear as light patches within the dense residential mesh, breaking up the pattern at regular intervals.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
For people who grew up in Plainview or raised families there, the street map is instantly familiar, from the route to school to the roads toward the city. It makes a personal gift without being sentimental.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to include a family name or the year you moved in, and choose from five styles. Classic suits the fine suburban detail, and Blueprint adds a slightly technical feel.
