Old market core
The historic centre is a tight cluster of short, bending streets around the market. It stands out clearly against the more orderly blocks that grew up around it.

Ramla Map Poster & Print
Ramla stands on the coastal plain between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, next to its older neighbour Lod. On the map it looks like a layered place. A small historic core of irregular lanes surrounds the market, and later neighbourhoods on more regular blocks surround that. Railway tracks and major roads cut across the landscape, and the airport lies a short distance to the north.
The Umayyad caliph Sulayman ibn Abd al-Malik founded the town in the early eighth century, and for a long period it was the administrative capital of the region. Its best-known structures include the White Tower, a tall medieval minaret, and the Pool of the Arches, an underground cistern from the late eighth century.
A Ramla map poster reads as a study of layers built up over time. The older centre stands out as a denser patch in the street network, and later planning and infrastructure wrap around it. In black and white, the contrast between winding lanes and straight main roads becomes the main story of the design.

White Tower site
The medieval minaret rises in the grounds of the old White Mosque. On the map, the mosque's enclosure appears as a distinct open space within the surrounding neighbourhood.
Rail and road lines
Railway tracks and main highways pass close to the town. They draw long straight lines across the plain and place Ramla within the dense transport network of central Israel.
