Rānipet Map Poster & Print
Rānipet lies in northern Tamil Nadu, on the northern bank of the Palar River, which flows east toward the Bay of Bengal. Across the wide, often sandy riverbed stands Arcot, historically the seat of the Nawabs, and the two towns read on the map as a pair separated by water. The Chennai–Bengaluru highway passes close by, linking the town to both cities.
The town is said to be named after a queen, the wife of the Gingee ruler Raja Desingh, in whose memory the Nawab of Arcot founded it in the eighteenth century. Today it is best known as an industrial centre, with a large industrial estate, chemical plants and leather units, and it became the headquarters of its own district in 2019.
A Rānipet map poster shows the compact older streets near the river, the long straight roads of the industrial areas and the broad band of the Palar, which dominates the southern edge. Open farmland and small lakes fill the spaces between the town and the neighbouring settlements along the highway.

Industrial estate
Large rectangular plots, straight access roads and factory footprints mark the industrial zones, contrasting with the finer grain of the residential streets.
Highway corridor
The main road between Chennai and Bengaluru passes nearby, and newer development has spread along it in a long, linear pattern.
