The historic centre follows a regular street pattern from the town's seventeenth-century founding, with a clarity few Polish towns keep.

Rawicz Map Poster & Print
Rawicz, in the south of Greater Poland near the border with Lower Silesia, is one of those towns whose plan reveals its origins at a glance. It was founded in the seventeenth century as a planned settlement, and the historic centre still follows a regular grid of streets around a large market square. From above, the blocks look almost ruled into place.
Around the old town, a band of green follows the line of former fortifications, then gives way to later housing estates and industrial areas. The railway passes the town on one side, and roads leave the centre in straight lines towards the neighbouring towns and villages. Beyond the edges, the flat farmland of the region stretches in long, narrow fields.
Rawicz is also known across Poland for its large prison, a long-standing institution in the town. On the Rawicz map poster, though, the first thing you see is the old grid: a clear, orderly plan that has survived several centuries. In black and white it has an almost architectural quality, somewhere between a map and a drawing.

Market square
A generous central square sits at the heart of the grid, the open space around which the rest of the old town is arranged.
Green ring
Parkland and tree-lined paths trace the outline of the former town edge, framing the old centre against later districts.

The geometry of Rawicz looks good on a wall even to someone who has never been there. For people from the town, it is a precise and personal portrait of home, from the square to their own street.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a family name or a year, and you can choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
