Rio das Pedras Map Poster & Print
Rio das Pedras lies in the interior of São Paulo state, in farming country near Piracicaba. The landscape around it is gently rolling and mostly given over to sugarcane, and on a map the town appears as a compact grid of streets surrounded by large, regular fields that stretch out on every side.
Like many towns in the region, Rio das Pedras is closely tied to the sugar and ethanol economy that shaped much of interior São Paulo. A Rio das Pedras map poster shows that setting directly: the tidy blocks of the town, the roads connecting it to its neighbours, and the patchwork of farmland that begins right at its edge.
In black and white, the square blocks of the centre make a strong, even pattern, while newer neighbourhoods at the edges follow their own directions. Small streams and field roads cross the surrounding land, and together they create a map that is orderly but not rigid, typical of an interior Brazilian town.
