Romans-sur-Isère Map Poster & Print
Romans-sur-Isère grew on the right bank of the Isère in the Drôme, where the river runs west toward the Rhône. The medieval town rises from the water in a tight knot of irregular streets, gathered around the Collégiale Saint-Barnard, the collegiate church near the riverbank that traces its origins to an abbey founded in the ninth century.
Across the river lies Bourg-de-Péage, and the two towns are joined by bridges that make them read as one on the map. For much of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries Romans was the centre of French shoe making, a heritage now kept in its international footwear museum.
A Romans-sur-Isère map poster contrasts the dense old core with the broader boulevards and later neighbourhoods that surround it. The Isère cuts cleanly across the composition, and the twin towns on either bank give the print a balanced, mirrored structure.

Medieval core
Narrow, curving streets pack the historic centre on the slope above the river, a fine-grained texture that stands out against the wider modern roads.
Twin towns
Bridges link Romans to Bourg-de-Péage on the opposite bank, so the map shows two towns joined into a single urban shape across the water.

Romans has a particular character: the river, the church above it, the long tradition of craftsmanship in leather and shoes. A map is a quiet way to hold on to that for people who live here or have roots in the Drôme.
