Sal’sk Map Poster & Print
Sal’sk lies in the southeast of Rostov Oblast, in the wide steppe that stretches toward the Kalmyk border. It began as a settlement around a railway station, and the tracks still define its shape. Lines converge on the junction and cut the town into sections, with extensive yards and depots along them.
The land is flat, so the town's plan is orderly: long straight streets crossing at right angles, with mostly low houses and gardens inside the blocks. The surrounding steppe is known for horse breeding, and the stud farms of the region have been important in Russian horse breeding for generations.
A Sal’sk map poster shows the town as a neat grid on an open plain. Railway lines leave it in several directions, and fields stretch to the horizon. In black and white, that geometry becomes very clean, almost like a technical drawing.

Open plains
Around the town, the steppe opens out in large field parcels. They give the composition a wide, calm frame.
