Tihamah plain
The land is flat on every side of the town. Without hills or a coastline, the pattern of streets and fields shapes the entire design.

Şāmitah Map Poster & Print
Şāmitah lies in the Jazan Region in the far southwest of Saudi Arabia, not far from the border with Yemen. It sits on the Tihamah, the flat coastal plain between the Red Sea and the mountains further inland. The land is dry, but seasonal watercourses bring enough water for farming.
The town has a compact centre, and newer districts extend outward in straighter lines. A Şāmitah map poster shows this built-up core surrounded by farmland, with dry riverbeds and field boundaries cutting across the plain.
Much of the area around the town is used for agriculture. On the map, the fields appear as irregular patches, with tracks leading from the town to the farms. The result is a calm, open layout.

Seasonal watercourses
Dry riverbeds cross the plain and carry water during the rainy season. On the poster they appear as faint, winding lines among the fields.
Town and farms
A compact centre gives way to newer streets and then to farmland. Tracks lead out toward the fields in several directions.
