Level valley floor
Samurou sits on the flat bed of the Imphal valley, so the streets bend around fields and plots rather than following slopes, and the lines stay loose across the whole sheet.

Samurou Map Poster & Print
Seen from above, Samurou has no hard edge. Its lanes spread over the flat floor of the Imphal valley in western Manipur, and houses cluster along a few roads before thinning into cultivated land. The map is mostly short connecting streets and scattered building plots. Around them the plain opens out, the kind of low, level ground that gives the valley its farming character.
The wider setting explains the town's shape. The Imphal valley is a broad basin ringed by forested hills, and its towns sit on the level ground in the middle. Samurou lies south-west of Imphal, the state capital, in a part of the valley where settlements are linked by roads across farmland. Loktak Lake, the large freshwater lake of Manipur, lies further to the south-west.
A Samurou map poster keeps this quiet layout honest. With a population of around sixteen thousand, the town gives a sheet with plenty of white space, where a handful of roads carry the design and the smaller lanes branch off them in irregular patterns. The drawing has no dense grid or monumental centre. It is closer to a sketch of how a valley community settles on open ground.

Roads as the frame
A few through roads give the town its structure. Houses gather along them, and the minor lanes branch off at irregular angles into the surrounding farmland.
Open space around
Beyond the built-up area the map turns to open ground. In a minimalist print this gives a lot of white space, and the settlement reads as a small cluster within the plain.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
People who grew up in Samurou or have family there usually know it through a few roads and the fields between them. A print of those lines brings the place into a flat or office far from Manipur, and it looks calm and restrained on a wall.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, so you could add a family name, a year or a short dedication. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters with an optional wooden frame ship from partners in over 30 countries.
