San Severo Map Poster & Print
San Severo stands in the northern part of the Tavoliere delle Puglie, the broad agricultural plain of the province of Foggia. The countryside around it is flat and carefully divided, much of it planted with vines, and the town is well known for its San Severo wines. The map shows fields in long parallel strips reaching almost to the edge of the streets.
The historic centre is dense and irregular, with narrow lanes, small piazzas and many baroque churches rebuilt after the earthquake of 1627. Around it runs a ring of wider avenues that follows the line of the old walls, and beyond that the later town spreads in more regular blocks.
A San Severo map poster makes the layering easy to read: tangled core, surrounding ring, orderly expansion, and open plain. In black and white the contrast between the medieval knot and the geometric fields is especially clear.

Baroque centre
Inside the ring, lanes twist between churches and small squares, many rebuilt in the baroque period, forming the most intricate part of the map.
Tavoliere vineyards
The plain around town is divided into long regular plots, many of them vineyards, giving the edges of the poster a fine striped texture.

San Severo is a town people carry with them when they move north or abroad. A map of its old centre and ring road is a way to keep piazzas, church bells and the flat horizon of the Tavoliere close.
