Sātkhira Map Poster & Print
Sātkhira is the administrative centre of a district in the south-west of Bangladesh, close to the border with India's West Bengal. It sits in the low, water-laced landscape of the Ganges delta, and on a map the town appears as a compact cluster of lanes and roads set among ponds, small rivers and a dense mosaic of fields and embankments.
The district stretches south to the Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest, and much of its land is devoted to shrimp and fish farming in shallow enclosed ponds. The region is known across Bangladesh for its mangoes as well. Tidal rivers and cyclones shape daily life here, and water is never far from any part of the map.
A Sātkhira map poster renders the town as a small, dense centre floating in an intricate landscape. Roads run along raised embankments, waterways twist between fields, and ponds appear as pale fragments scattered across the land. The pattern is unlike that of any grid city, delicate and irregular, and specific to the delta.

Ponds and fish farms
Countless ponds and enclosures dot the land around the town, rendered as small pale shapes that give the map its distinctive broken texture.
Embankment roads
Roads often run on raised embankments above the surrounding fields, drawing long lines that connect the town with villages across the district.
