Organic lane pattern
Instead of a planned grid, the lanes follow the logic of compounds and footpaths. The result is an irregular web that looks hand-drawn when printed in fine black lines.

Sé Map Poster & Print
Sé sits in the Mono department of southwestern Benin, a region named after the river that forms much of the border with Togo. From above, the town looks like a loose cluster of compounds and lanes rather than a formal grid. A few firmer roads link it to neighbouring communities, and a wide patchwork of fields presses in from every side.
The map is modest in scale, and that is its appeal. Main routes stand out as confident lines, while the smaller tracks between houses break into a fine, irregular mesh. Cultivated plots and scattered trees fill the gaps, so the edges of the settlement never look sharp. They soften gradually into the surrounding countryside of the coastal plain.
A Sé map poster suits someone with roots in the Mono region or a memory of time spent there. In black and white, the pattern of lanes becomes something close to a textile: dense at the centre and thinning towards the edges. It is a quiet record of how a southern Beninese town has grown around its roads.

Linking roads
A few firmer roads cut through the town and head off to neighbouring settlements, giving the composition clear directional lines against the finer mesh of local paths.
Soft edges
The town fades into fields and scattered trees rather than stopping at a clear boundary, so the poster reads as a settlement embedded in its landscape.

People hang this map to keep a specific place close: a family home, a year of work or study, or a town that rarely appears on printed maps. Its uneven lanes feel personal in a way a grand city grid often does not.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add a date that matters and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files or order a printed poster.
