Segbwema is a town in the Kailahun District of Sierra Leone's Eastern Province. From above, it forms a loose, low-density settlement. Its main roads carry most of the town's structure, and houses and compounds cluster along them. Between these routes, smaller paths and tracks fill the gaps, and at the edges the town fades gradually into farmland and forest.
The town is known in the region for the Nixon Memorial Methodist Hospital, which has long served the surrounding communities. Segbwema also stood on the old Sierra Leone Government Railway, which once linked the eastern towns to the coast before it closed in the 1970s. Its setting in the green east of the country shapes how open and spread out the map looks.
