Serekunda Map Poster & Print
Serekunda is the largest urban area in the Gambia, lying on the mainland southwest of the capital, Banjul, within the Kanifing municipality. On a map it appears as a broad, densely built area of residential compounds, small streets and markets, stretching from the Atlantic coastal districts inland toward the countryside.
Unlike many planned cities, Serekunda grew from a cluster of villages that merged as the population rose, and its street pattern shows it. Roads meet at varied angles, blocks differ in size, and a few main routes carry most of the traffic toward Banjul and the coast. The central market area is one of the busiest trading points in the country.
A Serekunda map poster turns that organic growth into a striking pattern. The fine texture of streets fills much of the frame, while the ocean and the coastal resort strip provide a clean edge to the west. It is a meaningful image for Gambians at home and abroad, and for visitors who came to know the town beyond the beach.

Market district
The central market area sits where major roads converge, a dense concentration of lanes and stalls at the commercial heart of the Gambia.
Coastal edge
To the west, the Atlantic and the resort areas along the shore mark a clear boundary, giving the map a strong, open side.
