Hillside lanes
Streets climb and curve with the slopes, producing an organic network with no straight grid, typical of mining towns founded in the colonial period.

Serro Map Poster & Print
Serro grew up in the eighteenth century during the gold rush of Minas Gerais, when it was known as Vila do Príncipe. Its streets were laid out by the terrain rather than a plan, so from above they twist along hillsides, drop into valleys and meet at small squares in front of churches.
The historic centre was among the first urban ensembles in Brazil to receive federal heritage protection, in 1938. The town is also known across the country for Queijo do Serro, a traditional cheese made in the surrounding countryside and recognised as part of Brazil's cultural heritage.
A Serro map poster traces this irregular fabric in fine detail. Narrow lanes follow the contours, a few longer roads run between the hills, and the surrounding landscape of the Espinhaço highlands frames the town in a pattern of winding rural routes.

Church squares
Small open spaces interrupt the lanes where churches stand, giving the map a series of quiet nodes across the historic centre.
Highland setting
Around the town, roads wind through the hills of the Espinhaço range, connecting Serro with the old mining routes of the region.

Serro speaks to people with roots in Minas Gerais and to travellers who walked its steep streets. The tangled colonial plan makes a quietly striking print for a hallway, kitchen or reading corner.
Set the title and subtitle to your own words, add a date or the coordinates line, and choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand suit the town's historic character especially well.
