Sifnos Map Poster & Print
Sifnos lies in the western Cyclades, a roughly oval island with a hilly interior and a coastline broken by small, sheltered bays. On a map, its villages form a connected band across the central plateau, where Apollonia, the capital, merges with neighbouring settlements into a loose web of lanes.
Kamares, the main port, sits at the head of a long bay on the west coast. To the east, the old fortified village of Kastro clings to a cliff above the sea, and farther south the monastery of Chrysopigi stands on a rocky point. In antiquity Sifnos was wealthy from its gold and silver mines, and today it is known for its pottery and cooking.
A Sifnos map poster shows an island shaped by walking. Paths link villages, chapels and coves, and the road network is modest enough to leave the island's form clear. The result is a detailed but balanced composition, with a dense cluster of streets in the middle and a coastline of small, deliberate indentations.
