Sillod sits on the Deccan plateau in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, on the main road that runs north from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar toward Jalgaon. On a map the town is shaped by that route: its busiest streets follow the highway, while residential lanes branch off on either side and loosen gradually into agricultural land, small watercourses and the tracks that connect neighbouring villages.
The town serves as a market and administrative centre for a largely rural taluka, and its layout reflects that role. Compact older neighbourhoods near the centre give way to newer blocks laid out at the edges, while the long road toward the Ajanta area carries travellers straight past it. The surrounding land is gently rolling, with seasonal streams leaving faint lines across the fields.
