The glacial lake
The lake lies at the heart of the resort, a rounded shape of water with a path around its shore. On paper it is the map's clear centre, and everything else is arranged around it.

Štrbské Pleso Map Poster & Print
Štrbské Pleso is a mountain settlement in the High Tatras of Slovakia, named after the glacial lake it surrounds. On a map the lake forms the centre, a rounded shape of water with a path running around its shore. Hotels and buildings line one side, forest surrounds the rest, and above it the High Tatras rise steeply to the north.
The resort has a long history as a spa and winter sports destination. It has large historic hotels on the lakeshore, and its ski jumps hosted the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970. A mountain railway connects it with the lower valley, and the Tatra Electric Railway links it along the foot of the mountains to other Tatra resorts.
A Štrbské Pleso map poster shows the lake in the middle, the shoreline path around it and a few streets and railway lines nearby. It is a small, focused map, with the mountains rising at its edges. It suits people who have walked around the lake, skied the slopes above it or taken the train in along the foot of the Tatras.

Tatra railways
Railway lines reach Štrbské Pleso from the lower valley and along the foot of the mountains. They cross the map as fine lines, connecting the lake to other Tatra resorts.
Ski jumps and slopes
The ski jumps and slopes rise above the lake towards the mountains. They mark the resort's winter-sports history, and on the map they stand between the lake and the high peaks.

Štrbské Pleso is a favourite for walkers, skiers and anyone who loves the Tatras. A poster of the lake and its surroundings brings back that mountain air, and it works well as a gift for someone with Slovak roots.
Add a title and subtitle, perhaps the date you walked around the lake, and keep the coordinates. Blueprint and Classic black & white keep it precise, while Noir, Paper and Sand offer other moods. It comes as HD files or a matte print, framed if you like.
