Star-shaped squares
Round squares with avenues radiating out in several directions give the centre a geometric, almost diagrammatic look that is easy to spot from above.

Szczecin Map Poster & Print
Szczecin grew up on the western bank of the Oder, near where the river breaks into a maze of channels, islands and the wide Lake Dąbie before running north into the Szczecin Lagoon. On the map, water covers almost as much ground as streets do, and the port basins and canals on the islands add a network of straight, industrial edges.
The city centre is known for its nineteenth-century layout of round squares with streets radiating out of them like stars, often compared to Paris. From above, these roundabouts and diagonal avenues form a pattern that is unusual in Poland. Above the river, the Chrobry Embankment rises in grand terraces.
The Pomeranian Dukes' Castle stands over the old town, and the city has been a major Baltic port for centuries despite lying well inland. A Szczecin map poster shows both halves of its character: the geometric star plan on the west bank and the scattered, watery landscape of the Oder to the east.

Oder channels
The river divides into several branches around islands and port basins, filling the middle of the map with water, bridges and quays.
Lake Dąbie
East of the centre, this wide lake forms a large open shape that balances the dense street network on the opposite bank.

Szczecin's star plan and river channels make one of the most graphic maps in Central Europe. It fits well in a home or studio, and it means a lot to anyone with ties to Pomerania or the Baltic coast.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark an address, a year or a name, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The Blueprint style suits the port and canals especially well.
