Terracina Map Poster & Print
Terracina lies on the coast of southern Lazio, where the Monti Ausoni reach the Tyrrhenian Sea. The town has two clear parts on the map: the medieval upper town, built over the Roman forum on the slopes, and the lower town spreading in a regular grid along the shore and around the canal harbour. To the north-west, the flat reclaimed Pontine plain stretches toward Monte Circeo.
Above the town, on Monte Sant'Angelo, stand the ruins of the great sanctuary long known as the Temple of Jupiter Anxur, with sweeping views over the coast. Below, the Via Appia passes the Pisco Montano, a rock face cut away in Roman times to carry the road along the shore, with carved numerals still marking the depth of the cut.
A Terracina map poster captures the layering of the place: the tight lanes of the old centre on the hillside, the straight streets of the newer town beside the beach, the canal and the coastline running away in a long, clean curve. The result is a map with strong contrasts and a clear sense of direction.

Pisco Montano
Where the mountain meets the sea, the Via Appia runs past a Roman rock cut, a narrow passage between cliff and shore at the edge of the town.
Seafront grid
The lower town extends in straight streets along the beach and harbour canal, giving the map a long, orderly band of blocks beside the sea.

Terracina is a summer beach for Romans, a stop on the Via Appia for travellers and a hometown with deep roots. A map of it suits anyone who has spent summers on its seafront, climbed to the temple at sunset or grown up between its two quarters.
