Resort coastline
Along the southern shore, Puerto del Carmen's streets pack closely together, forming a dense band that follows the curve of the Atlantic coast.

Tías Map Poster & Print
Tías lies in the south of Lanzarote, one of the easternmost Canary Islands, and its territory runs from the interior of the island down to the Atlantic shore. From above, the contrast is striking: a small inland town surrounded by open, volcanic land, and a much denser coastal strip to the south.
That coastal strip includes much of Puerto del Carmen, one of the island's main resort areas, where streets and apartment complexes line the shore in tight rows. Inland, the town of Tías is quieter. The Portuguese writer José Saramago settled here in his later years, and his home is now open to visitors.
A Tías map poster shows how Lanzarote's settlement works: roads crossing bare, dark terrain with few interruptions, and development clinging to the coast and a handful of inland centres. The clean coastline and the sparse lines of the interior make for a composition with plenty of open space.

Inland town
The town of Tías itself sits away from the sea, a compact cluster of streets surrounded by the open volcanic land typical of Lanzarote.
Open terrain
Between town and coast, roads run across largely unbuilt ground, leaving wide empty spaces that give the map a calm, uncluttered balance.

Many people know Tías from holidays on Lanzarote, and a map of the stretch between the inland town and the resort coast can recall specific walks, beaches and evenings. Others come to it through Saramago and his years on the island.
Add a title, a subtitle such as the dates of a trip, and choose from five styles, with Sand suiting the island's volcanic tones. Download the watermark-free HD files for $9 or order a printed poster in one of six sizes.
