Tirupparangunram Map Poster & Print
Tirupparangunram lies just southwest of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, beside a large granite hill that rises abruptly from the surrounding plain. On a map the hill is the anchor. Streets and houses press up against its base on one side, and roads curve around it rather than over it.
The town is known above all for its Murugan temple, counted among the six sacred abodes of the deity and partly cut into the rock of the hill. Water tanks near the temple and elsewhere in the area show up as clean geometric shapes among the surrounding streets.
A Tirupparangunram map poster captures the relationship between hill, temple town and the spreading suburbs of Madurai. The dense lanes at the foot of the rock contrast with the empty mass of the hill itself. That makes an unusually strong composition for such a small place.

Rock-cut temple
The Murugan temple at the foot of the hill is one of the six major abodes of the deity. The oldest streets of the town gather around it.
Temple tanks
Rectangular and rounded water tanks sit among the streets, giving the map crisp geometric forms that contrast with the organic lanes.

Pilgrims, families from Madurai and people who married at the temple often want this place on their wall. The hill gives the poster a clear focal point that is recognisable at a glance.
Personalise the title with Tirupparangunram or a family name, and add a date such as a wedding or a first visit. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the temple-town mood well.
