The Vidå loop
The river bends around the old town, creating a clear, rounded boundary on the map and explaining why the town grew in this compact shape.

Tønder Map Poster & Print
Tønder is at the edge of the Wadden Sea marshland in southern Jutland, and the map shows how flat and watery this country is. The old town is a compact cluster of streets with a river, the Vidå, looping around and through it, while straight drainage ditches and dike-lined fields extend toward the coast.
Tønder received its town charter in 1243 and is often called Denmark's oldest market town. It was once a harbour town, before land reclamation pushed the sea away. It was also famous for bobbin lace, and today the Tønder Festival draws folk and roots music fans every August.
A Tønder map poster contrasts the organic curves of the old centre with the ruler-straight lines of the reclaimed marsh. It is a map where you can see history in the land itself, and it looks especially fine in a large format.

Historic core
Narrow streets and closely packed plots form the centre, with a denser, more irregular pattern than the newer districts around it.
Reclaimed marsh
Beyond the town, drainage ditches and field boundaries run in straight parallel lines, a geometric texture created by centuries of land reclamation.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
It is a map for people who grew up in the marshland, festival regulars who return every summer, and families with roots on both sides of the border. The combination of old town and flat land is distinctive and easy to recognize.
Personalize the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a festival year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 file includes all six print sizes.
