Radiating roads
Roads leave the town centre in several directions and link Velur to its neighbouring villages. They give the print a loose star-like structure.

Velur Map Poster & Print
Velur is in Namakkal district, in the interior of Tamil Nadu, where the land is open, cultivated and mostly flat. From above, the town is a small, dense cluster of streets. Several roads lead out of it in different directions and connect it to the villages and larger towns of the Kaveri basin.
Around that core the map loosens quickly. Field boundaries, irrigation channels and scattered hamlets fill the space between roads. Water matters here, and the river country to the south and west sets the rhythm of farming across the district. The town is a place where produce, trade and travel meet, not a place defined by a single monument.
A Velur map poster is modest in the right way. It shows a working town at the scale its residents know: the main road, the temple streets, the lanes that lead out to the fields. For anyone from here, that pattern is easy to recognise, even without a single label on the sheet.

Dense old centre
At the heart of town, narrow streets sit close together. On the poster they form a darker knot of lines against the open country around them.
Cultivated plain
Farmland surrounds the town on every side. Channels and field edges show up as a pale, finely divided background.

This is a map for people who grew up here, or whose family did, and who now live somewhere else. It shows home without turning it into a postcard, and it looks just as right in a flat in Chennai as in a house abroad.
Add a family name, a year or the coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files include six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a PDF.
