Venta river mouth
The river's last kilometres cut through the city to the sea, lined with harbour basins and quays that give the map its strongest shapes, especially along the industrial bank.

Ventspils Map Poster & Print
Ventspils stands on Latvia's western coast where the Venta River enters the Baltic Sea, and its map is defined by that meeting. The river's final stretch divides the city into two banks, lined with quays, basins and terminals, while two long piers push out into the sea to protect the harbour entrance. Its ice-free port has long made it one of the busiest on the eastern Baltic.
The old town lies along the river, a compact grid of low streets near Ventspils Castle, built by the Livonian Order in the thirteenth century and among the best preserved of its kind in Latvia. Along the open coast, a broad sandy beach and a seaside park with dunes and pine woods follow the shoreline away from the harbour.
A Ventspils map poster shows a city of clear contrasts: the geometric outlines of docks and piers, the tight grain of the historic centre, and the open coastline with its soft edge of sand. The city is also known for the painted cow sculptures dotted around its streets and for its Blue Flag beach, details that locals often mention first.

Harbour piers
Two long breakwaters extend into the Baltic at the river mouth, drawing slender converging lines into open water that frame the entrance to the port.
Castle and old town
Near the river stands the Livonian Order castle, with the small streets of the historic centre around it, a compact, finely detailed cluster set apart from the port.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
People hang a map of Ventspils to remember summers on the Baltic coast, a family connection to Kurzeme, or years spent working in the port. The combination of river, harbour and shoreline creates a composition with real structure and plenty of breathing room.
Give the poster a title and subtitle of your own, add a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Blueprint suits the harbour's technical lines, while Paper and Sand soften the coast. All five styles come in six print sizes, as HD files or as printed posters.
