Branching lanes
Roads split and meet again in irregular forks. Together they form a loose net across the area instead of a grid, and each strand follows the easiest line across the terrain.

Vilappil Map Poster & Print
Vilappil lies a short distance from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, in the gently rolling country that rises inland from the coast. It is not a city in the compact sense but a spread of settlement. Houses are strung along roads and lanes rather than packed into blocks, and the map shows that looser, organic pattern.
From above, the road network looks almost hand-drawn. Lanes follow ridges and the edges of low valleys, branching and rejoining as they go, while small ponds and cultivated lowlands appear as gaps between them. Generations of smallholdings shaped this landscape, and its geometry comes from the land itself rather than from any single plan.
A Vilappil map poster captures a quieter side of southern Kerala, a part of Thiruvananthapuram district that visitors driving to the beaches rarely look at closely. Reduced to black lines on white paper, the web of lanes becomes a delicate pattern that looks more like the veins of a leaf than a street plan.

Low hills and valleys
The lack of long straight roads is itself a sign of hills. Paths curve around higher ground and dip into lower land, which gives the poster its soft, meandering texture.
Link to the capital
Larger roads lead towards Thiruvananthapuram. A wider frame shows how the area sits within reach of the city while keeping a village-scale pattern.
