Old walled core
The historic centre sits on the site of a late Roman city whose basalt walls partly survive. Its lanes are denser and more irregular than those around it.

Viranşehir Map Poster & Print
Viranşehir lies in Şanlıurfa Province in southeastern Turkey, on the broad plain that runs south toward the Syrian border. From above the land is almost perfectly flat, so the town spreads evenly in every direction. Roads leave the centre in straight lines, newer districts form regular blocks, and fields surround the edge in large geometric parcels.
The town occupies a site that was important in late antiquity, known then as Constantina or Tella, and remains of its old basalt walls still survive. The dark stone has given parts of the old town a distinctive character. Today Viranşehir is an agricultural centre, and irrigation has changed the surrounding plain.
A Viranşehir map poster works because of that openness. With no hills or coastline to bend the streets, the pattern comes entirely from human choices: the tighter lanes around the old core, the straighter streets beyond, and the long roads leaving across the plain. It is a clear and understated composition.

Straight radial roads
Main roads leave the town in long straight lines toward Şanlıurfa, Mardin and the surrounding villages, a pattern typical of towns on open plains.
Irrigated field grid
Around the town, farmland is divided into large regular parcels. On the map they extend the town's geometry out to the horizon.
