Walvis Bay Map Poster & Print
Walvis Bay sits on Namibia's Atlantic coast, where a long sandspit ending at Pelican Point curves out to shelter a natural harbour. From above, the town is a neat grid of streets between the port and the edge of the Namib Desert. To the south, a shallow lagoon stretches along the shore.
It is Namibia's main deep-water port, and the harbour has shaped the town from the start. Walvis Bay remained under South African administration until 1994, four years after Namibian independence. The lagoon is known for its flamingos, and the high dunes just inland, including Dune 7, draw many visitors.
A Walvis Bay map poster captures rare contrasts: straight streets, a sweeping coastline, the thin arc of the spit and the empty desert beyond. With so few competing details, the composition is clean and graphic, and it works well in any of the five styles.

The lagoon
South of the town, a shallow lagoon runs along the coast. Its soft outline sets off the hard edges of the port and streets.
Grid against the desert
The town's streets form a regular grid that stops abruptly where the Namib begins. This gives the built area a sharp, clear edge.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Walvis Bay is a place people remember strongly: a desert road trip, kayaking in the bay, a posting at the port. Its mix of sea, sand and grid makes one of the more striking coastal prints.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, adding a date, a route or a name. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the dunes especially well.
