Ridge-top roads
The main routes follow the higher ground, and the smaller streets branch off them. This creates a tree-like structure across the map.

Weirton Heights Map Poster & Print
Weirton Heights occupies the upland area of Weirton, in West Virginia's narrow Northern Panhandle, between Ohio and Pennsylvania. The Ohio River runs in a deep valley below. The Heights spread across the higher ground above, where the land is more rolling and the streets have room to curve.
The Weirton area grew with its steel industry, and Weirton Steel was once one of the largest employers in the state. The mills occupied the valley floor near the river, while neighbourhoods such as the Heights developed on the hills above as the town expanded and residents moved uphill.
A Weirton Heights map poster shows a network of winding residential streets, cul-de-sacs and main roads following the ridges. The terrain determines almost every line. The drawing has a looser, more organic texture than the river towns below, and captures the upland side of the Upper Ohio Valley.

Curving subdivisions
Residential areas use looping streets and cul-de-sacs adapted to the slopes, giving the drawing a soft and irregular texture.
Above the valley
On a wider view, the Heights sit above the Ohio River valley, where the rail lines and former mill sites trace the lower ground.
