Wenheng Map Poster & Print
Wenheng is a town in Fujian province in south-east China, in the hilly western part of the province. This is mountainous country, with narrow valleys, terraced fields and forested slopes, and towns are usually built on the limited flat land along rivers and valley floors.
On a map, a place like Wenheng appears as a compact cluster of streets in a valley, with roads leaving along the lower ground and bending around the hills. The surrounding villages are smaller clusters, linked by winding rural roads.
A Wenheng map poster reduces this to lines and spaces: a dense town centre, the long curves of valley roads and the open areas that stand for hillsides and fields. The result is quiet and precise, suited to a small place in a large landscape.

Scattered villages
Small rural settlements appear across the wider area as separate knots of streets, connected to the town by thin country roads.
