Historic centre
A compact knot of older streets gathers around the church at the heart of town. Its fine grain differs clearly from the more spacious neighbourhoods built around it later.

Zevenaar Map Poster & Print
Zevenaar is the main town of the Liemers, a region in the east of Gelderland between Arnhem and the German border. From above, the old centre is a small, dense core of streets around its church. Post-war neighbourhoods surround it, laid out in the orderly, green style typical of Dutch planning. Beyond them lie flat farmland, dikes and the river landscape of the Rhine.
History explains part of its character. Zevenaar belonged to the Duchy of Cleves and later to Prussia, and only became part of the Netherlands in 1816. It is also a transport hub. The railway from Arnhem toward Germany passes through, as does the line to Winterswijk, and the A12 motorway runs just outside the town.
A Zevenaar map poster shows a Dutch town on several edges: between city and countryside, between the Netherlands and Germany, between river land and rail corridors. The straight lines of railway and motorway contrast with the curving streets of the residential districts and the watery patterns further out, making an unexpectedly layered print.

Rail and motorway lines
The railway toward Germany and the branch to Winterswijk split at the town, and the A12 motorway passes close by. Together they draw long straight lines across the map.
Rhine river country
To the south and west, polders, dikes and the channels of the Rhine create a flat, finely divided landscape of waterways and field boundaries.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Zevenaar is a place people commute from, grow up in and come back to, often without thinking of it as remarkable. Seeing it drawn with care, rail lines and all, changes that. The map makes a considered gift for someone leaving the Liemers, or a quiet marker for a first house here.
