Square-block grid
The town follows the classic Argentine checkerboard of equal blocks. Printed in fine black lines, it becomes a crisp, repeating pattern of squares.

Carcarañá Map Poster & Print
Carcarañá lies in southern Santa Fe province, in the heart of the Argentine pampas, west of Rosario. Like most towns in the region, it is laid out on a regular grid of square blocks, a chessboard of streets that the map shows with almost diagrammatic precision. The Carcarañá River breaks the pattern. It winds past the town, and the town takes its name from it.
From above, the contrast between the straight blocks and the looping river is the defining feature. The railway and the main highway between Rosario and Córdoba also pass through, drawing long straight lines across the area. Beyond the last streets, the flat farmland of the pampa spreads out in rectangular fields that echo the town's own geometry.
A Carcarañá map poster makes the most of that tension between order and meander. The grid gives the design structure and the river gives it movement, so it works as a graphic piece even for someone who has never visited. For those who have, it is a familiar picture of home: the blocks, the riverbank and the road out toward the city.

The river's curves
The Carcarañá River bends past the town in loose meanders. It is the only truly irregular line on the map and the first one the eye follows.
Road and rail lines
The highway between Rosario and Córdoba and a railway cross the area, adding long straight strokes that cut across the grid and point to places beyond the frame.
