Comé lies in southern Benin, not far inland from the Atlantic coast, in the low country between Cotonou and the border with Togo. From above, it looks like a crossroads town. Several roads meet at a dense central grid, and the streets then loosen into residential quarters, gardens and farmland before disappearing among fields and oil palms.
The wider region is shaped by water. Lagoons and lakes lie between the coast and the interior, and there are wetlands around the town's broader surroundings. Within Comé itself the map is mostly about roads: a market core, main routes leading out in different directions, and a web of smaller lanes filling the spaces between them.
