Goaso sits in the forested west of Ghana and serves as the capital of the Ahafo Region, created in 2019 when the former Brong-Ahafo Region was divided. From above, the town reads as a modest cluster of streets where regional roads meet, with the built area thinning quickly into farmland and tree cover. It is a place defined more by its setting than by any grand plan.
On a black-and-white map, that setting becomes the story. The central streets form a loose, irregular knot, and the routes leading out stretch like threads toward neighbouring towns.
