Westerstede Map Poster & Print
Westerstede is the district town of Ammerland, in the flat, green north-west of Lower Saxony between Oldenburg and East Frisia. On a map the centre is compact. Streets converge on the old church and the market area, then loosen into residential quarters where lanes bend around gardens and small blocks instead of following a strict grid.
The town is closely tied to rhododendrons and tree nurseries, which surround it on almost every side. From above they form a patchwork of rectangular plots divided by straight field roads and hedgerows. That regular rural geometry against the softer curves of the town makes a Westerstede map poster look almost like a woven textile, finely ruled and evenly weighted.
The St. Petri church, a brick building with medieval origins, is still the visual anchor of the old centre, and the streets around it keep the scale of a market town. Further out, the A28 motorway toward East Frisia runs past to the south, and narrow drainage ditches and small streams thread through the low country, adding thin, wandering lines to the composition.
