Ang mapa
Aripuanã Map Poster & Print
Aripuanã lies in the far north-west of Mato Grosso, at the southern edge of the Amazon. The map shows a young, fairly regular street grid set beside the Aripuanã River, whose broad channel curves past the town. Past the last streets, the forest and scattered clearings take over and roads thin to a few long lines.
The river is the town's defining feature. A short distance away it drops over the Dardanelos and Andorinhas falls, a series of cascades that local people know well and that also supplies a hydroelectric plant. On a map, the river breaks into channels and rocky steps, which gives the composition a strong, irregular accent.
An Aripuanã map poster shows a place where the town is small and the landscape is vast. Straight planned streets meet a river shaped by rock and forest, and the contrast works especially well in the Sand or Paper styles. It is a portrait of the Amazon frontier drawn from above.

Dardanelos falls
Downstream the river drops over the Dardanelos and Andorinhas falls. The rocky channels and cascades give the map a textured, fragmented section of water.
Forest edge
Beyond the grid the land opens into forest and cleared plots, crossed by only a handful of long roads leading out of town.

Bakit Aripuanã
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Aripuanã draws people who work in the region, travellers who have seen the falls, and families who helped build the town. A map shows both the planned streets and the untamed river, which is how many of them remember it.
Set the title, subtitle and coordinates line as you like, for example the year you arrived, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The files include six print sizes, from A3 up to 24×36″.
