Alluvial fan slope
The land descends gently from the mountains, and roads and streams follow the slope in long, parallel lines. On the map this creates a subtle diagonal rhythm across the whole basin.

Ang mapa
Azumino Map Poster & Print
Azumino covers the western side of the Matsumoto basin in Nagano Prefecture, on a broad alluvial fan that slopes down from the Northern Alps. From above, it looks less like a single town than a scatter of small centres joined by roads through rice fields. Streams and irrigation channels run in parallel lines across the land, carrying snowmelt from the mountains toward the rivers on the basin floor.
That water is what Azumino is best known for. Filtered through the gravel of the fan, it rises as clear springs that feed some of Japan's largest wasabi farms, including the Daio Wasabi Farm. The city was formed in 2005 when several towns and villages merged, and it takes its name from the old name for the area. Peaks such as Mount Jōnen rise sharply to the west.
An Azumino map poster captures the logic of a rural landscape shaped by water. Roads and channels trace the slope of the fan, fields fill the spaces between them, and the settlements form small, distinct clusters. The mountains to the west give the map a strong edge. It is a calm, open composition that looks especially good in lighter styles such as Paper.

Wasabi spring fields
Where groundwater surfaces in the lower basin, wasabi beds fill long channels of clear, flowing water. They make some of the most distinctive farming patterns in the area.
Northern Alps edge
West of the city, the street network ends abruptly at forested mountain slopes. The contrast between the open basin and the mountains gives the composition a clear, strong boundary.

Bakit Azumino
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Azumino draws people who value clean air and mountain views: hikers, artists, and families who left Tokyo for a slower life. A map of the basin, with its channels and small settlements, reflects that choice and makes a restful piece for a living room or studio.
Write your own title and subtitle, such as the name of a house or the year you arrived, and keep the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then download the HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
