Mearim River
The river curves past the town in wide, unhurried bends, forming a natural boundary on the map and giving the design its most fluid line.

Ang mapa
Bacabal Map Poster & Print
Bacabal sits in the interior of Maranhão, in northeastern Brazil, on the banks of the Mearim River. From above, the river winds through a flat, largely rural landscape, and the town spreads out beside it in a loose grid of blocks. Highways converge here, and at the edges of the built-up area the streets thin out quickly into farmland and scrub.
It is one of the main towns of the Mearim valley and a commercial centre for the surrounding countryside. The river has shaped where the town could grow, and its bends are the most expressive lines on the map, set against the straighter geometry of the streets beside them.
A Bacabal map poster brings those two elements together: the meandering Mearim and the regular pattern of the town. The result is balanced and understated, with enough open space around the edges to let the shape of the settlement stand on its own. It suits a hallway, a living room or a study equally well.

Town grid
Blocks laid out in a fairly regular pattern fill the land beside the river, creating an even texture that contrasts with the organic line of the water.
Roads outward
Highways lead away across the plains toward other towns of Maranhão, drawing long straight strokes that extend the composition beyond the urban edge.
